There's Good And There's Bad...

This is a view of Keauhou Bay that most people won't get. The picture was taken on a Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago at the home of people we've come to consider friends. The sun was setting, there was a gourmet dinner on the way, and leisurely talk about movies and computers. The best part of my job is the wonderful people I get to meet.

That's the good.

The bad? Kilauea volcano's main crater has decided to let off some steam. Actually, steam wouldn't be bad. The Halemaumau Crater is now spewing sulfur dioxide at the rate of 1,500 tonnes per day. Depending on the way the wind is blowing, it looks like Los Angeles around here sometimes. You can keep up with the latest here. I've been coughing a bit but no adverse consequences yet. You can bet I'm watching it, though.
